The basic idea of a Kindle Case in my view is to serve as a purse. One thing women love is purses. At one time, a woman only had a need for a purse to carry money and personal things. Now sometimes men carry purses too, and people have their laptop computers to carry around and now the Kindle. The Kindle Case is basically something to carry and protect your Kindle. The Kindle is not something that I know a lot about since I have never used one. I read books or read from my computer, but from what I understand it is becoming very popular. I can see its advantage when you can store many books on it at one time and don’t have to carry a lot of books if you enjoy reading. However, I can be a bit old fashioned and like the feel of turning pages and having a book in my hand when I read. While researching this subject, I found that the WaterFeld design seemed to be the most popular and that there are about three different types of cases from the WaterFeld design. There is the Sleeve Case, which is for more rugged protection. It has a nylon shell to protect the screen and a lightly padded closing flap. Next, there is the Travel Case. This is more for people who want their accessories along. With this, it can be carried by itself or it can be put in a larger bag. Then there is the Slip Case, which is basically to protect the screen. One of the main complaints is that you can’t read while it in the case though, and also there are some problems with the tab. People are worried that it isn’t holding the Kindle securely or that it might fall out. Another complaint people have is they think there isn’t enough different colors because mainly black is shown on the Internet, but there are many different colors to order. In researching these Kindle Cases, I saw that there were some basic leather cases to those with shoulder straps. There was even one homemade Kindle Case that a person designed to look like a book. It was interesting and a beautiful design, but I can’t really see anything practical about it. I noticed the prices of the cases ranged from around 25 dollars to over 50 dollars. If I were to buy one, I would want to buy a simple protective case and keep it in my large purse. In my opinion, the best thing about this item is its use for a student. I am in college and it would definitely save on buying books. Also, it would definitely lighten the load.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom was released in January 2007 as a tool targeting professional photographers in need of a software which will allow them to handle their workload and thousands of pictures faster and more efficiently. There was no such software available, when digital photography started to take off and the digital SLRs were introduced. Many photographers decided to switch over to all digital, in order to improve efficiency and speed, avoiding the need to develop the slides and waste time scanning them into the computers for easier distribution to clients and agencies. With growing sizes of memory cards, more and more images could be shot on assignments and the increased workload in handling all the photographs required adaptive and potent software. Apple came out with their Aperture software just about at the same time Adobe released Adobe Photoshop Lightroom as a public beta, which probably was no coincidence. Providing a potent software for free just at the time the competition publishes their own is a torpedo hitting the target at full speed. Adobe did not stop there, but provided several improvements during the beta stage, which were simply derived from Aperture, without making the same mistakes. Although Apple beat Adobe in releasing the initial version of Aperture a year earlier than Adobe needed to finalize Lightroom, Adobe released the version 2 of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom just months after Aperture 2.0 became available. Apple incorporated all the improvements that were perceived from the competition, but Adobe hit back with localized corrections, where certain parts of a picture could be edited, multiple monitor support, 64-bit support, more flexible printing, better organization tools and one click Photoshop integration capability. DNG camera profiling was added as well, where users can define own profiles of their cameras and save them, as well as import pre defined presets from camera manufacturers. Nikon and Canon have already supplied Adobe Labs with all the presets of all their cameras, which are available since the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 release. While Apple still does not provide a Windows version, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is capable to work on almost any platform which was available since 2002, even G4. During the beta testing phase, it was noted that some photographers preferred to keep the old version as well and not have the upgrade remove the previous Adobe Photoshop Lightroom installation. The program does not require that much hard disk space anyway. The upgrade version, which is actually a full installation, it only requires a previous license to be available, is available at a significantly reduced price.
